Reflection
1. Justify how this project/activity/assignment meets the standard, using evidence from the standard itself to demonstrate your mastery and/or understanding.
There was one standard for this assignment and also many sub-standards for this assignment. The main standard was standard 5.1 which was to be able to describe the settlements before Columbus arrived. This included many types of settlements which also includes the Southwest region. Standard 5.1.1 was to describe how the geography and climate influenced their living. This standard meets this assignment because we had to explain about what type of clothes they wore and what houses they lived in based on natural/geographical features. These are some reasons why this assignment meets this standard.
2. Elaborate on at least 1 skill and/or strength you feel you gained from completing this project. (Coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - elaborate on life skills you can take out of this project)
I have earned/gained many strengths by completing this assignment. One strength I gained is that I learned how to cooperate and collaborate with a group and complete an assignment. I also gained presentation skills which would be applicable in many situations in the future. I also gained research skills which is also an essential feature that will be important to be able to learn. These are some skills I have gained/earned from completing this assignment.
3. Upon reflecting on your work/score, what is ONE area of work you could have done better on? How will improving in this area benefit future work/projects? (Coloring and or drawing are not skills to write about - research skills, time management, etc…)
I could have improved in many different areas on this assignment. One area I could have improved on is presentation skills, the main reason was because I wasn't prepared and stuttered while presenting. If I had practiced more and was more prepared, this presentation could have been more successful. Improving in this area will benefit me in the future because I would prepared for future presentations like SLC's and also college presentations. This is one area where I could have improved on.
4. How will you presently apply the content and skills you learned from this assignment in the real world (outside of the classroom, particularly in today’s society). Make connections between the content and your life.
I can presently apply the skills and content I learned from this assignment in the real world in many ways. First, I can use the presentation skills in the future when I present in the future because I will be more prepared and ready for how I would have to react to certain situations. I would also be more comfortable at public speakings and in front of big audiences. I can use the research skills in all different subjects for example, if I had to write a paper for Biology class I would be prepared to do so. These are some ways I could apply these skills in the real world.
