Reflection
1. REWRITE THE STANDARD IN YOUR OWN WORDS. HOW DOES THE ASSIGNMENT RELATE TO THE STANDARD?
8-VA-CE-2.5 was to select a material to communicate an idea with a series of art. This standard relates to the assignment in many ways. First, we communicate an idea which is to recycle plastic bottles instead of trashing them. We also chose specific materials which is cardboard and plastic bottles that are most likely recyclable. This is how the assignment relates to the standard.
2. WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO COMPLETE THE ASSIGNMENT?
There are many different steps we took to complete this assignment. First, we decided the central idea of our sculpture in our group. Then each person brought the assigned material. Then we built the sculpture. After we decorated the poster using paint, construction paper, and etc.
3. THIS ASSIGNMENT DEMONSTRATES THE FOLLOWING STRENGTHS...
This assignment shows many different strengths. First it shows I could work in a group to finish a sculpture. It also shows that I am responsible to bring the materials assigned to me. This assignment also shows that I could communicate using a sculpture. These are the strengths this assignment shows.
4. I COULD HAVE IMPROVED MY WORK ON THIS ASSIGNMENT BY...
I could have improved in many different ways. First I could have used more or different environmental materials. I could also have improved by making the sculpture more eye appealing so it brings awareness more quickly. I also could have showed more materials that are recyclable instead of just water bottles. These are the parts I could have improved on.
5. HOW WILL YOU APPLY THE SKILLS YOU LEARNED FROM THIS ASSIGNMENT IN THE REAL WORLD, AS AN ADULT OR IN OTHER CLASSES WHILE YOU ARE STILL A STUDENT?
I can apply this assignment to the real world in many ways. First I will be able to use art to bring environmental awareness. I also can use this skill to communicate with people using artworks. For example I could use the skill of communicaing without talking. I also will be able to use the skill of working with many other people in my other classes, cooperate together.
