Mesopotamia is a land between 2 rivers called Tigris and Euphrates. The river gave water to crops and they also sometimes flooded. This also helped the population to rise because there is water. It was also useful to early civilizations because there was water and fields so they could go crops. In Egypt the river name was called the Nile. The Nile was the worlds longest river and the Nile was unique because it flowed from south to north instead of north to south. The Nile went into a delta and it flowed into the Mediterranean Sea. The Egyptians used a tool called a shadoof to move water from the Nile to the land.
