Standard: 6.5.4 Outline the social structure of the Caste System.
The Caste system was a social class system used in India. The Caste System was a social class that a person belonged to when born. So for example if your parents were Sudras that meant your social class became a Sudra too. The social structure order went from Brahmins, Ksatriyas, Vaisya, Sudras, and finally the Untouchables. The highest social class was the Brahmins, Brahmins were priest and scholars. The Ksatriyas were in the upper/middle class but lower then the Brahmins and the Ksatriyas were mostly warriorsand Kings. The Vaisyas were in the middle class and they were merchants. The Sudras weren't free people because they were servants, slaves, and pheasants. Unlike other social structures there was a social class below the slaves which were Untouchables/ Pariahs, the Pariahs had to dispose dead bodies as their work. After the religion Hinduism starts they started to work hard and try their best in their social class because they are in because the Hindus believed in reincarnation which was rebirth in a another body. So they worked hard as they can so they get to be in a higher social class they were in before.
In some places today people use the Caste System but of course they want freedom from the unfairness.
