Greece is a peninsula near the Mediterranean Sea. Greece was divided in half the southern part was called the Peloponnesus and the Isthmus connects the Peloponnesus with the northern section of Greece. There was no main rivers in Greece and that made difficulties on irrigation and etc. Since Greece was also mostly mountain and because of its rugged landscape it made it harder for the Greeks to unite. Also in Greece if you owned land that meant that you were rich because Greece was a small land. Greece also didn't have precious metals like gold or iron. Instead they had a lot of stones and harbors since Greece was a peninsula. Greece was divided into city-states which were called polises. In Greece the capital was called the Athens which is a city-state that got its name after the goddess Athena.

In Greece the myths explained about the creation of the world and human beings. So in Greece the myths were mostly like the torah/bible. The 12 Olympians of Greece were Zeus, Poseidon, Hades, Hestia, Hera, Ares, Athena, Apollo, Aphrodite, Hermes, Artemis, and Hephaestus. All these gods were a god at something, for example Poseidon was the god of the sea, earthquakes, horses, and storms. These Olympians and other deities were all connected to each other which made the gods compete for a higher place.

The Democracy was ran by giving the citizens a choice to vote on laws purposed by people. the last type of government which was a government that was illegally formed by betraying citizens.

The wealthy family sons started school around age 6 or 7 and studied reading, writing, poetry, arithmetic, music, and Athletics. Womens couldn't participate in government work.
